It is at the edge of the parking area, on the side leading to the canal and the trails. At each informational panel along the trail in the park is another UR Here map.. In the city.Shubie Park is a 40-acre (160,000 m2) urban park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia maintained by the Halifax Regional Municipality. Heavily forested, Shubie Park is roughly linear in shape as it is bounded on the north and west by Highway 118 expressway and on the south and east by Lake Micmac and the southern edge of Lake Charles.It’s our preferred entrance because on days that aren’t too hot or too cold, I can run some errands at Dartmouth Crossing and then treat ourselves to a long walk in the park. It’s easy to get to. Once in Dartmouth Crossing, drive to the east end of Shubie Drive (that’s the road Cineplex is on).

We'd also like to recognize the Province of Nova Scotia, Communities, Culture, and Heritage for their financial contribution towards the project.The Fairbanks Centre, located at the entrance of Shubie Park (54 Locks Road, Dartmouth), is the main interpretive centre for the Shubenacadie Canal Waterway and serves as the headquarters for the Shubenacadie Canal Commission. It features a small museum that is open year-round during regular business hours. Admission is free.
Shubie Beach is found on Lake Charles in the popular Shubie Park. The beach entrance is adjacent to Shubie Park Campground, the closest campground to the urban core of Halifax. The park's name comes from the Shubenacadie Canal, a section of which runs through the park.
